WHAT A YEAR

From May 2002 through May 2003...Our first "year" showing
Havana Brown Cats and Kittens was unforgettable!!!

Acapella Crystal Gayle of Soesthill earned her Grand Championship in the first ring at the Creative Cats, CFA Cat Show, May 17 & 18, 2003 in Omaha, NE. Finaling under Judge Gary Veach gave her the few points that she needed to attain her new title. Also, at this show our six month old kitten, Headcat's Monte Cristo of Soesthill finaled in five of the 6 rings.

Acapella Heavens to Betsy finaled under Kitty Angel, Barbara Sumner and in the last ring of the show, Norma Placchi, to finish her title of Grand Champion at age six years and three months.

The timing of this award was especially sweet for us since "Betsy" had received her winners ribbons one year before at this same show where Norma Placchi, along with Edna Field, had finaled Betsy as an open. After getting her winners ribbons, one year ago, Betsy raised a litter and finished her Grand Championship.

Soesthill Cattery would like to thank Judges, fellow exhibitors, family and friends for helping and supporting us, and our cats, during the past "year."

Especially, Thank you, to Candice Massey and Jim and Reba Head for entrusting their babies to us.

Thank you to Norma Placchi for teaching and counseling us on the finer points of the standard as it applies to the wonderful and lively Havana Brown cat.

Also, a very special thank you to Diane Mounib who flew all the way to the Midwest, from Boston, MA, to introduce us to her fantastic "Trudy," the very first Havana Brown that Ray and I had ever seen "in the flesh." Diane's enthusiasm and love of the breed rubs off on everyone she meets and she has been there cheering us on at every turn, during this year.

In our first year with Havana Brown cats we traveled over 30,000 miles. In addition to "Crystal" and "Betsy", named above, we have granded Acapella Stradivarius of Soesthill, Headcat's Tedi Bear of Soesthill, Acapella Lucille of Soesthill, and Acapella Loretta Lynn of Soesthill. We have made many new friends in the world of shorthaired cats to add to our wonderful longhaired cat friends.
